Justiz und Gerichtliche Medizin im vergeblichen Kampf gegen Naziterror: die Untersuchung der ersten Mordopfer im KZ-Dachau
摘要
The first German concentration camp was established near the Upper Bavarian town of Dachau at the end of March 1933. After the Schutzstaffel (SS) took over the camp administration, a large number of alleged suicides and killings of prisoners attempting to escape occurred in April and May.
The Munich public prosecutor’s office II had these deaths autopsied, where the Munich institute with PD Dr. Berthold Mueller provided the second medical examiner.
As a result of these investigations, murder charges were brought against unknown persons and against members of the camp management for aiding and abetting in the crimes at the beginning of June.
The charges failed due to the simple suppression of the files under the responsibility of the Minister of the Interior. The article describes the details of this and the role of the experts at the time.
