摘要

This study focuses on the effect of cutting conditions on the resulting surface finish when performing flank milling without lubrication with the application of high-speed steel (HSS) cutting tools on aluminum 6061 workpieces. Data collected from machining were analyzed based on the ANOVA method. A regression model was developed based on the second-order model of the parameters to investigate the relationship between different cutting parameters and the quality of resulted machined surfaces. The main concern is to precisely know how various cutting parameters affect surface quality in both transversal and longitudinal directions. The present study has led to the development of robustly predictive models for machining performance, with a reduction in manufacturing errors and enhancement in the quality of the products manufactured.
