<p>Laser cladding technology typically utilizes fiber lasers or disk lasers as the laser source, through which the material is rapidly melted on the surface of the substrate and subsequently solidified to form a uniformly coating. Given the advantages of laser cladding for efficient surface molding, the introduction of ultrasonic energy can enhance the properties of coatings. This paper presents a summary of the current research status of ultrasound-assisted laser cladding technology, including an overview of the application mode of ultrasound and an analysis of the mechanism of ultrasound action on the melt pool. Furthermore, it provides an analysis of the effects of ultrasonic frequency and amplitude on the microstructure, hardness, and wear resistance of the cladding layer. Finally, it presents a summary of the existing problems in the research of ultrasonic-assisted laser cladding and offers insights into the potential development direction of this technology.</p>
