Effect of induction heating composite shot peening on surface integrity parameters of 20CrMnTi gear steel

摘要

Shot peening is widely used to increase the fatigue strength of materials by inducing plastic deformation and introducing residual compressive stresses on the material surface. To enhance the effects of shot peening further, an induction heating composite shot peening (IHCSP) method was developed to improve the strengthening effect. An IHCSP test bench was established to study the effect of the induction heating temperature field on the surface integrity parameters, and the synergistic effects of shot peening coverage and shot peening intensity on the temperature field were analyzed. The results show that IHCSP is conducive to increasing the surface compressive residual stress and maximum compressive residual stress, while the microhardness can be improved by increasing the coverage and shot peening intensity within the tempering temperature. The surface roughness is not significantly affected by the temperature field and is mainly affected by the coverage and shot peening intensity. The superiority of the IHCSP method was verified based on the analytical results.
