It is classified into secondary arthrofibrosis, which arises after surgical interventions or trauma and the rare primary arthrofibrosis without an identifiable cause. Arthroscopic arthrolysis is a&#xa0;minimally invasive and low-risk treatment for this condition. Preoperative diagnostics and clarification of the causes are prerequisites for optimal surgical planning and successful outcomes. A&#xa0;systematic approach to optimal portal selection and the sequence of arthrolysis can help ensure the restoration of joint function through an arthroscopic route, even in cases of severe arthrofibrosis.
