Künstliche Intelligenz in der Registerforschung

摘要

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a rapidly evolving technology, the enormous transformative potential of which within healthcare is increasingly being recognized, including the field of Big Data. Registry data are predestined for the use of AI due to large case numbers, structured high-quality data and longitudinal data collection. Potential areas of application include data collection and processing, pattern recognition and analysis as well as the development of personalized predictive models. A meaningful and responsible use of AI can enable a new form of acquisition of evidence based on registry data, which enables a highly specific prognosis for each individual patient and care in the sense of a personalized medicine in joint surgery; however, there are challenges and limitations, especially related to data quality, data protection and the risk of misuse that need to be appropriately navigated, to ensure successful implementation. This article aims to present the current state of the application of AI in orthopedic registry research, to undertake a discussion on the challenges, risks, and advantages of this technology, to anticipate potential future developments and to derive concrete recommendations for successful implementation.
