摘要

Post-traumatic deformities of the elbow, in particular cubitus varus and cubitus valgus, are often associated with chronic deformities, functional limitations and pain. Treatment of these deformities requires a high level of expertise and detailed preoperative planning. Today, 3D printing technology is used in addition to 3D computed tomography. These two techniques provide an additional tool for planning and performing an osteotomy and can help to improve outcomes. Fractures and malalignments can be visualised in a 3D model, and additive navigation guides can be produced. 3D-printing can also be used to produce patient-specific implants, orthoses or prostheses made of titanium. However, these processes are quite complex. Moreover, thorough post-processing is required as part of the segmentation process. The number of studies on 3D printing technology is limited, but the current literature suggest that this technology may add value to support osteotomies of the elbow joint.
