Update zum FertiPROTEKT-Netzwerk und FertiTOX
摘要
Women are increasingly being diagnosed with cancer at younger ages, while the age of first-time mothers in German-speaking countries is shifting towards older ages. On the other hand, survival rates after cancer treatment have improved significantly in recent decades. For young women who are confronted with a cancer diagnosis, the topic of family planning is therefore becoming increasingly important at the time of diagnosis and is an important factor in terms of their future quality of life. The desire to have children of their own and uncertainty about their future fertility are important aspects for mental health before and during oncological therapy. Concerning this background, we want to share the success story of fertility preservation, which was launched in 2006 and increases the chances of conception for long-term cancer survivors.
