Endometriose – Entscheidungshilfen für das Vorgehen bei akuten und rezidivierenden Beschwerden

Current national figures show a clear increase in the prevalence of endometriosis from 2012 to 2022. The diagnosis is still frequently made after a delay. Those affected are not only impaired by physical symptoms but also at the mental level due to the disregard of their suffering. In many cases not only one form of treatment is the right one and many treatment options each have advantages and disadvantages. Particularly in certified endometriosis centers, interdisciplinary approaches can be combined with complementary medical measures. The aim is to develop an individualized and differentiated treatment concept in a participative decision-making process in which the personality, aims and life situation of the patient are taken into consideration. In this article the treatment options are presented and discussed.
