Management des septischen Schocks im Kindesalter
摘要
Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction resulting from a dysregulated host response to infection. Since 2024 the Phoenix Sepsis Score has served as the consensus definition in the pediatric population. Septic shock is defined as sepsis plus cardiovascular dysfunction. Of the approximately 50 million cases of sepsis worldwide each year, half occur in childhood and with 3 million deaths annually, sepsis remains the leading cause of death in children. Apart from short-term and long-term mortality, physical, emotional, behavioral and neurocognitive long-term consequences of pediatric sepsis (post-sepsis syndrome) are gaining increasing attention. Early diagnosis, prompt hemodynamic stabilization, and gradual optimization of intensive care treatment form the cornerstone of managing sepsis and septic shock. Innovative diagnostic approaches and personalized immunomodulatory treatment have the potential to improve outcomes after sepsis in the future.
