摘要

If there are indicators of child abuse during the physical examination of children, the further procedure with (photographic) documentation of all findings in a way all evidence can be used in court poses a challenge in routine pediatric practice. Of particular importance are specialized medical knowledge, particularly with respect to the typical localization of nonaccidental injuries, the need for a complete physical examination that incudes hidden body parts as well as the procedures for documenting findings which can be used in court. Having appropriate documentation aids and establishing reliable procedures facilitates the procedure in cases of suspected child abuse and increases the diagnostic certainty in the interpretation of findings.
