Nachhaltiges Reisen mit Kindern
摘要
The climate crisis poses the greatest threat to global health in the 21st century, and children and young people are particularly affected by its health consequences. Tourism is particularly important in Germany, and as travelers, children and young people not only contribute to the ecological consequences of tourism, but are also particularly exposed to these consequences at their vacation destination due to their vulnerability (e.g., due to heat, forest fires, extreme weather events, or infections). Sustainable travel can influence the impacts of vacation activities on an individual basis in the short term and systematically change offerings in the long term. This requires concepts and a willingness to make tourism environmentally friendly, socially just, and economically viable in the long term. From the perspective of pediatricians, climate-sensitive health counseling is a suitable tool for jointly considering and discussing children’s health, climate change, and travel behavior.
