Assistance-Medizin in der Pädiatrie
摘要
Modern assistance medicine is more than just patient transport and air ambulance flights. It includes the care of travellers on-site and modern assistance centers have extensive networks of local medical care providers. In many cases this makes evacuation flights unnecessary, even though they are still demanded by patients and their families. Children who are patients in modern assistance medicine either travel with their parents on vacation or are relatives of employees working abroad for companies. There are no specific assistance providers for children but large assistance organizations have pediatrically trained or at least experienced colleagues within their medical teams. This article describes the tasks and structure of modern assistance medicine and illustrates the work based on case examples.
