Allergische Rhinitis/Rhinokonjunktivitis im Kindes- und Jugendalter
摘要
Allergic rhinitis (AR) is one of the most common chronic diseases in children and adolescents and is greatly underestimated both in terms of the individual burden and the risks of developing subsequent diseases. Patients with moderate to severe AR can substantially suffer from symptoms such as blocked nasal breathing, constant itching and sleep disorders and the quality of life can be severely impaired. Comorbidities from the atopic group types and progression of the disease are common. Approximately 40% of all patients with AR also suffer from allergic bronchial asthma. Early diagnosis and, if possible, causal treatment are particularly important. The diagnostics are based on personal and family medical history and targeted allergy testing. Skin tests, in vitro diagnostics including component diagnostics and nasal provocation tests can be used to identify the triggering allergen. In addition to patient clarification and education, allergen avoidance measures, symptomatic treatment with topical corticosteroids and second generation systemic antihistamines and allergen immunotherapy (AIT) for causal treatment are implemented.
