摘要

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) published a call for proposals to establish a German Center for Child and Adolescent Health (DZKJ) in 2020. In a competitive selection process, the partner sites Berlin, Göttingen, Greifswald/Rostock, Hamburg, Leipzig/Dresden, Munich and Ulm were chosen for the new center due to their scientific excellence. The DZKJ will strengthen research in the field of pediatric and adolescent health within the existing German Centers for Health Research (DZG) in a sustainable and internationally visible manner. The overarching aim of the center is to create a strong network of existing expertise, accelerate the transfer of research results into practice, involve patients and their representatives, promote young scientists and thus improve the health of children and adolescents in the long term. Together, they have developed a research concept that will contribute to the development of a new era of personalized, predictive and participatory medicine for children and adolescents.
