摘要

Migraine is a strongly genetically determined disease of the central nervous system (CNS). Phenomenologically, migraine is characterized by symptoms that regularly occur following a rhythmic pattern. The primary feature is pain, which intensifies with physical exertion and is not necessarily limited to the head. This pain is accompanied by various other phenomena, such as fatigue, nausea, vomiting, increased sensitivity to external stimuli and emotional changes. Abdominal migraine is characterized by abdominal pain accompanied by symptoms similar to those of classical migraine headaches. Following thorough noninvasive diagnostics, making a definitive diagnosis is the first therapeutic step. Subsequent steps include educating patients about a biopsychosocial disease model and, in the case of classical migraine attacks, treatment with medication. The frequency of attacks can be reduced through psychosocial interventions.
