摘要

Patient-related outcome measures (PROM) are relatively new tools used in the treatment of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (CIBD) patients to achieve a more patient-centered approach to disease progression, treatment effectiveness and quality of life. The rapidly growing number of treatment options in CIBD medicine, including biologics and small molecules, is making treatment increasingly more complex. The STRIDE I and II are treat-to-target strategies that also integrate PROMs. These strategies require close and frequent communication between patients and healthcare providers. With the increase in digitalization in healthcare, more and more apps and registries are becoming available that enable patients to enter their own health data. These new tools make it possible to integrate patient outcomes into treatment strategies. Many of these apps only allow patient data to be collected but these data are not available to the treating physician and therefore cannot be incorporated into the treatment plan. The CEDUR registry enables the patient and treating physician to be connected, improving patient care through the timely delivery of PROMs and other data.
