Akute kolonische Pseudoobstruktion (Ogilvie-Syndrom)
摘要
Abdominal pain is a common symptom in the field of gastroenterology. The underlying mechanisms can be multifarious ranging from irritable bowel syndrome to chronic inflammatory bowel disease or associated with ischemia or diverticulitis in older patients; however, a life-threatening situation, such as acute colonic pseudo-obstruction (ACPO) or Ogilvie syndrome can be the cause of the pain without having a mechanical or anatomical cause. This symptom can frequently be found in older patients. Due to the possible life-threatening complications which can be associated with the disease, early diagnostics and treatment are decisive. This manuscript describes the diagnostic and therapeutic steps in Ogilvie syndrome.
