Coccygodynie: Ein Überblick

  • Achim Benditz

摘要

Coccygodynia is a pain syndrome in the region of the coccyx, which is often underestimated and misdiagnosed, leading to prolonged suffering for many patients. Despite the initial description of the condition in 1859, coccygodynia is still a controversially discussed topic in medicine even today. The characteristic symptoms include deep-seated pain directly at the coccyx, which occur primarily when sitting or changing position and are often associated with significant limitations in the quality of life. Women are more frequently affected than men due to anatomical differences and childbirth-related factors. This article provides a detailed review of the anatomy of the coccyx, the various causes and mechanisms of pain development, current diagnostic methods as well as conservative and surgical treatment approaches, based on a comprehensive literature review and the experience of the author.
