摘要

Scoring questionnaires for the assessment of urinary incontinence are an essential and important tool for making a diagnosis, initiating treatment and monitoring the success of patients with and without pelvic floor dysfunction. They enable the examiner to assess the extent and, depending on the questionnaire, the type of incontinence. In addition, they can help to record the quality of life of those affected and track corresponding changes over time. The many commonly used incontinence questionnaires vary considerably in their focus and level of detail. This depends on whether they focus on general symptoms, specific forms of incontinence or effects on quality of life, alone or in combination.
