Leben mit Lynch-Syndrom
摘要
Lynch syndrome occurs in approximately 1 in 300 persons in Germany but it is estimated that a diagnosis has previously been made in only 5% of those affected. The majority of those affected who have a predisposition are therefore unable to take timely measures for cancer prevention. From the perspective of people with Lynch syndrome, in addition to the classification of the subtype it is vital to ensure consistent preventive care in the practice that is tailored to the specific cancer risk. Coordinating healthcare across various medical disciplines is a major challenge. Lynch syndrome is still widely unknown even today. Lack of awareness and insufficient information can impede or delay the diagnosis, so that adequate treatment is not possible. For people with Lynch syndrome, it is essential to close these gaps in treatment from a patient perspective in the near future. A look abroad can help to find suitable ways to improve the treatment situation.
