摘要

In this paper, we investigate an age-structured epidemic model with transmission through the environment. It is assumed that the environmental cleaning capacity is limited with a saturating function that describes the relation between environmental contamination and the cleaning rate due to limited sanitation facilities or improper operations. Local stability results and global dynamical behavior are studied, showing that a backward bifurcation may occur under the saturation effect. The mathematical results suggest that sound environmental sanitation management plays an important role in disease prevention and control.
