<p>The purpose of the present paper is twofold. First, we correct a mistake in the statement of Lemma 1 of the paper (Dorai et al. in Mediterr J Math 15:158–169, 2018); the corrected version is stated and proved in Lemma 3 below. Second, we present a new and direct characterization for the uniform completions of a Riesz space. This furnishes a positive answer to a question posed by J. Quinn in (Pac J Math 56(1):225–263, 1975).</p>
